A Gis-based Multicriteria Approaches to Land Use Suitability Assessment and Allocation
نویسنده
چکیده
ABSTRACT. ––Land suitability assessment in a Geographic Information System (GIS) environment is formulated as a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem. Different MCDM approaches are developed to combine factors in a suitability analysis of land for potential land uses. These MCDM approaches are used to develop a generic suitability index. Approaches include both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Results from the MCDM analysis are then linked to a GIS for more detailed spatial analysis. Besides land suitability evaluation, an MCDM framework is also developed for land use allocation. The framework captures the multi-criteria nature of land suitability analysis and at the same time allocates land by maximizing the overall suitability of a land area. ____________________________________________________________________________________________

Comparison of Multicriteria Methods for Land-use Suitability Assessment
In this paper we investigate properties of multicriteria methods that are used for building land-use suitability assessment criteria. We identify and describe fundamental properties that are of interest in the land-use suitability analysis and the design of suitability maps. The existing multicriteria methods can be evaluated from the standpoint of their ability to support the desirable propert...

Lake areas in Chinese urban fringes are under increasing pressure of urbanization. Consequently, the conflict between rapid urban sprawl and he maintenance of water bodies in such areas urgently needs to be addressed. An integrated GIS-based analysis system (IGAS) for supporting and-use management of lake areas in urban fringes was developed in this paper. The IGAS consists of modules of land-u...

Cell-based Multicriteria Evaluation (MCE) methods are used to analyse the land suitability evaluation. Land evaluation is carried out to estimate the suitability of land for a specific use such as arable farming or irrigated agriculture. land suitability evaluation is a prerequisite for land-use planning and development (Sys 1985; Van Ranst and others 1996). It provides information on the const...
متن کاملGIS Assessment of site suitability for serial biological concentration (SBC) in Murrumbidgee in Australia
Researchers of CSIRO Land and Water in Griffith in Australia have found a way to repeatedly reuse drainage water to grow crops. In the process the system will concentrate the salt in the water to a manageable level which can then be used or stored in an environmentally friendly manner. The process, known as sequential biological concentration, is based on a novel system for Land, based treatmen...

The goal of multi-objective land use assessment and allocation (MOLAA) is provision of an optimal allocation of all land uses with maximum suitability. Different techniques of multiple criteria decision making have proven useful as decision support tool for solving a MOLAA problem. SA and MOLA are two different MCDM approaches that can provide solution to a MOLAA problem using different decisio...
